About Momefit® Nasal Spray

Rating of sales:

Description

Momefit® Nasal Spray produced by Entod Pharma contains an active material Mometasone Furoate which is a type of drug called synthetic corticosteroids. Corticosteroid drugs are synthetic derivatives of corticosteroid hormones produced naturally by the adrenal glands.

Indications:

- treatment of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis symptoms in adults and children, 12 years and older. Start using Momefit® Nasal Spray 2 to 4 weeks prior to the pollen season anticipates;

- relief of nasal congestion associated with seasonal allergic rhinitis in adults and children, 2 years of age and older;

- prophylaxis of seasonal allergic rhinitis symptoms in adult and children, 12 years and older;

- treatment of nasal polyps in adults (aged 18 and older).

MOA (mechanism of action):

Mometasone is a topical glucocorticosteroid with anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive properties. Corticosteroids inhibit multiple cell types (e.g., mast cells, eosinophils, neutrophils, macrophages, and lymphocytes) and mediators (e.g., histamine, eicosanoids, leukotrienes, and cytokines) involved in allergic and non-allergic-mediated inflammation. These anti-inflammatory actions contribute to the efficacy in the treatment of allergic rhinitis.

Dosage

For seasonal or perennial allergic rhinitis

Adults and children, 12 years of age and older: 2 sprays in each nostril once daily (1 spray = 50 mcg of Mometasone Furoate; total dose of 200 mcg).

As soon as symptoms are controlled, reduce the dose to 1 spray in each nostril (1 spray = 50 mcg of Mometasone Furoate; total dose of 100 mcg) is advised.

If symptoms are inadequately controlled, the dose may be increased to a maximum dose of 4 sprays in each nostril once daily (total dose of 400 mcg).
