About Maxima® Powder

Rating of sales:

Maxima® Powder is manufactured by Cipla Vet. The active compounds of this joint supplement are Glucosamine Hydrochloride, Sodium Chondroitin Sulphate, Manganese, and Ascorbic Acid.

Joint disorders are caused by the breakdown of cartilage – an elastic tissue that covers and protects ends of long bones, joints, and other components of the body. When an organism cannot produce enough cartilage, such disorders as arthritis among others start develop.

Maxima® Powder is indicated for prophylaxis or symptomatic relief of:

- rheumatoid arthritis;

- osteoarthritis (also known as degenerative joint disease);

- osteochondrosis;

- canine dysplasia (hip or elbow);

- aseptic necrosis of the femoral head (also called Legg-Calvé-Perthes Disease);

- joint trauma (cranial cruciate ligament tear, dislocation and fracture of the ankle, dislocation of the elbow or hip, joint fractures, palmar carpal ligament breakdown).

Although Maxima® Powder beneficially affects dogs suffering from the named conditions, the sole consumption of this powder does not cure any of them.

MOA (mechanism of action):

Glucosamine Hydrochloride is an amino sugar that promotes the synthesis of glycosaminoglycans, a major component of joint cartilage. With the increased formation of these elements, the body becomes able to rebuild broken cartilage tissue needed to support and protect bones and joints.

Sodium Chondroitin Sulphate is a sulfated glycosaminoglycan (GAG) and a very important component of cartilage tissue. It strengthens the cartilage and enhances its resistance to compression.

Manganese is an essential nutrient and antioxidant, that is involved in synthesis of cholesterol, carbohydrates, and proteins. It also protects the body from free-radical damage.

Ascorbic Acid is a potent antioxidant that aids in prophylaxis and/or symptomatic relief of accelerated joint damage, associated with degenerative disorders like osteoarthritis among others.

Maxima® Powder should be administered orally, mixed with dog’s food (preferably wet dishes) or a small quantity of water.

The exact dosage, as well as course duration should be determined by your veterinarian. The therapeutic response is usually obtained after 6 weeks of the course treatment.

Extra large dogs weighing over 50 kg: 1,5 scoops daily.

Large dogs weighing from 20 to 50 kg: 1 scoop daily.
