About Desowen® Lotion

Rating of sales:

Desowen® Lotion is manufactured by Galderma. This is a topical medication used to relieve skin inflammatory symptoms such as rash, itching, and swelling associated with dermatoses, atopic dermatitis, eczema, and psoriasis. Desowen® Lotion comprises Desonide as an active ingredient. Desonide is a nonfluorinated corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory, vasoconstrictive, and anti-pruritic activities.

Desowen® Lotion is indicated for rash, swelling, irritation, redness, and itchiness associated with:

- mild to moderate atopic dermatitis;

- corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses;

- eczema;

- psoriasis.

MOA (mechanism of action):

Desonide reduces inflammation, swelling, itchiness, and other symptoms of skin disorders by inhibiting the release of arachidonic acid, a common precursor of irritation-causing metabolites called prostaglandins and leukotrienes. By reducing prostaglandins and leukotrienes, the aforementioned inflammatory symptoms start dissipating.

Desowen® Lotion is normally applied to the skin 2-3 times a day depending on the severity of the skin problem.

Before you apply the lotion, ensure the affected area is clean and dry. Shake the bottle well before use.

Apply a small amount of the lotion to the affected area. Gently rub until the lotion is evenly distributed on the skin.

Desowen® Lotion is for topical use only.

Wash your hands before and after using Desowen® Lotion.

Consult your doctor on how often to apply Desowen® Lotion. Use Desowen® Lotion exactly as directed.
