About Zamocal®

Rating of sales:

Zamocal® is manufactured by Zimmar. The medication is aimed to treat obesity in individuals with body mass index (BMI) of 30 kg/m² and more, or with BMI of 28 kg/m² or more with associated risk factors.

Orlistat (also known as tetrahydrolipstatin) is an active compound belonging to a class of drugs known as gastrointestinal lipase inhibitors.

Zamocal® shows high effectiveness when a patient follows a well-balanced, low-calorie diet that contains up to 30% of calories from fat.

Zamocal® is safe to take when a patient suffers from high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and heart problems.

The medication gets rid of excess fat in the body and keeps off the weight gain.

MOA (mechanism of action):

Orlistat is a pentanoic acid ester that blocks gastric and pancreatic lipases, thus decreasing the breakdown of dietary fat into smaller molecules that can be absorbed. Orlistat decreases fat absorption by about 30%. The loss of calories from reduced absorption of fat results in weight loss.

Zamocal® capsule should be swallowed with water.

Take one capsule orally 3 times a day during the main meal or up to 1 hour after the meal.

The diet of the patient should include three main meals, containing the daily dose of fat, carbohydrate, and protein.

The daily intake of fat should be no more than 30% of your total daily caloric intake (e.g., eating 1200 calories per day, no more than 360 of those calories should be in the form of fat) while taking Zamocal®.

The dose of Zamocal® should be omitted if a meal is missed or does not contain fat.

Treatment with Zamocal® should not continue for more than 6 months and should be stopped after 12 weeks if has been unable to lose at least 5 % of the body weight.

Zamocal® is approved to be taken along with nutritionally balanced, low-calorie diet and physical activity.

Zamocal® can be used by people with diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease or high cholesterol.

Zamocal® is intended for use only in adults and can be dangerous for children.

Do not stop taking Zamocal® suddenly.
