Description
Duolin® Inhaler, manufactured by Cipla, combines 2 active ingredients with bronchodilatory effects - Levosalbutamol and Ipratropium.
Levosalbutamol is a short-acting β2 adrenergic receptor agonist that works by relaxing the muscles in the walls of the airways, opening them and thereby, easing breathing.
Ipratropium bromide is a type of anticholinergic medication that helps open the airways to the lungs, making breathing easier and providing relief from asthma and associated conditions.
Duolin® Inhaler also contains the CFC-free propellant HFC 227, which delivers Levosalbutamol and Ipratropium together as an aerosol into your lungs each time you actuate (press down) your inhaler.
Duolin® Inhaler makes breathing easier by relaxing the breathing tubes or air passages that carry air to and from the lungs.
It begins to act quickly (in approximately 15 minutes) after use and its effect usually lasts for 4 to 6 hours after use.
Dosage
Shake the inhaler for at least 10 seconds before each spray.
Keep your eyes closed while spraying Duolin® Inhaler.
Breathe in slowly while spraying the medication into your mouth.
Hold your breath for 10 seconds and then breathe out slowly.
To use more than one inhalation at a time, wait at least 2 minutes before the second one.
The recommended dose for adults is 2 puffs four times daily at regular intervals.
Maximally tolerated dosage of Duolin® Inhaler covers 12 puffs in 24 hours.
One puff should last for at least 4 or 5 hours.
You should use your Duolin® Inhaler continually for as long as your doctor recommends and you should not stop using your Duolin® Inhaler, even if you feel better.
Shake Duolin® Inhaler aerosol before using. This will mix the medicine evenly so that a correct dose is delivered.
When using the inhaler device for the first time, prime it by spraying 2 test sprays into the air, away from your face. Also prime the inhaler if you have not used it for 3 days or longer.
Each inhaler contains at least 200 actuations.
