Side effects
Generic Remeron has its side effects. The most common are:
- constipation
- increased appetite
- weight gain
Less common but more serious side effects during taking Generic Remeron:
- allergic reactions (skin rash, itching or hives, swelling of the face, lips, or tongue)
- breathing problems
- confusion
- fever
- sore throat
- mouth ulcers or blisters
- flu like symptoms including fever, chills, cough, muscle or joint aches and pains
- stomach pain with nausea and/or vomiting
- suicidal thoughts or other mood changes
- swelling of the hands or feet
- unusual bleeding or bruising
- unusually weak or tired
- vomiting
Side effects manifestations are not only depend on medicine you are taking but also depend on your health state and on the other factors.
Contra-indications
Do not take Generic Remeron if you are allergic to Generic Remeron components.
Be very careful with Generic Remeron if you're pregnant or you plan to have a baby. Do not take Generic Remeron if you are breast-feeding.
Do not take Generic Remeron if you have taken an MAO inhibitor such as furazolidone (Furoxone), isocarboxazid (Marplan), phenelzine (Nardil), rasagiline (Azilect), selegiline (Eldepryl, Emsam), or tranylcypromine (Parnate) in the last 14 days.
You should not take Generic Remeron if you are also taking tryptophan (sometimes called L-tryptophan).
Be very careful with Generic Remeron if you have bipolar disorder, liver or kidney disease, seizures, heart disease, a history of heart attack or stroke, or a history of drug abuse or suicidal thoughts.
It can be dangerous to take Generic Remeron together with cimetidine (Tagamet); conivaptan (Vaprisol); imatinib (Gleevec); isoniazid (for treating tuberculosis); lithium (Eskalith, LithoBid); St. John's wort; tramadol (Ultram, Ultracet); a blood thinner such as warfarin (Coumadin, Jantoven); an antibiotic such as clarithromycin (Biaxin), erythromycin (E.E.S., EryPed, Ery-Tab, Erythrocin), rifampin (Rifadin, Rifater, Rifamate), or telithromycin (Ketek); an antidepressant such as amitriptyline (Elavil, Vanatrip), citalopram (Celexa), doxepin (Sinequan), desipramine (Norpramin), desvenlafaxine (Pristiq), fluoxetine (Prozac, Sarafem, Symbyax), imipramine (Janimine, Tofranil), nefazodone, nortriptyline (Pamelor), paroxetine (Paxil), sertraline (Zoloft), venlafaxine (Effexor), and others; antifungal medication such as itraconazole (Sporanox), ketoconazole (Nizoral), or miconazole (Oravig); heart or blood pressure medication such as nicardipine (Cardene) or quinidine (Quin-G); HIV/AIDS medicine such as atazanavir (Reyataz), delavirdine (Rescriptor), indinavir (Crixivan), nelfinavir (Viracept), saquinavir (Invirase), or ritonavir (Norvir); migraine headache medicine such as almotriptan (Axert), eletriptan (Relpax), frovatriptan (Frova), naratriptan (Amerge), rizatriptan (Maxalt), sumatriptan (Imitrex), or zolmitriptan (Zomig); or seizure medication such as carbamazepine (Carbatrol, Equetro, Tegretol) or phenytoin (Dilantin).
Generic Remeron can be not safety for people younger than 24 years old.
Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be alert. Generic Remeron may impair your thinking or reactions.
Avoid alcohol.
It can be dangerous to stop Generic Remeron using suddenly.
