Description
FKeto® Cream is manufactured by Med Manor Organics. This is a topical antimycotic treatment for fungal and yeast infections. Applied to the skin, it kills disorder-causing microorganisms and relieves irritation, itching, swelling, and peeling associated with fungal and yeast infections. Keto® Cream comprises Ketoconazole an active ingredient. Ketoconazole is a broad spectrum imidazole antifungal agent. It belongs to the class of azole antifungals.
Indications:
- fungal infections of the skin (also known as dermatophytosis infections) including tinea corporis (ringworm), tinea cruris (jock itch), tinea pedis (athlete's foot), and tinea versicolor (dermatomycosis furfuracea, pityriasis versicolor, or tinea flava);
- yeast infections of the skin (Seborrheic Dermatitis, cutaneous candidiasis).
MOA (mechanism of action):
Ketoconazole is an antifungal agent with a broad spectrum antifungal activity against Malassezia, Candida, Histoplasma, Coccidioides, and Blastomyces fungi species. Ketoconazole is predominantly fungistatic, it works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, triglyceride, and phospholipid, important constitutes of fungal cell membrane biosynthesis. With the lack of aforementioned elements fungal cells become more permeate and weak in structure, therefore they are no longer able to grow and cause the skin disorder.
