About Eukroma®-Plus Cream

Rating of sales:

Description

Eukroma®-Plus Cream is manufactured by Yash Pharma. This is an anti-pigmentation cream used to lighten the darkened areas of the skin, including freckles, chloasma (also known as melasma), age spots, liver spots and even acne scars. The active substances comprised in Eukroma®-Plus Cream are Hydroquinone, Tretinoin, and Mometasone Furoate. Hydroquinone is a benzene derivative of phenol type and a topical lightening agent. Tretinoin is a retinoid and vitamin A (retinol) derivative with keratolytic and comedolytic effects. Mometasone Furoate is a corticosteroid of glucocorticoid class with strong anti-inflammatory properties.

Hyperpigmentation is a skin disorder associated with melanin (naturally produced pigment) overproduction. Its symptoms are light to medium brown spots on the skin. Hyperpigmentation is thought to be caused by genetic predisposition, sun exposure, pregnancy, hormone treatments, skin trauma, use of perfumes and deodorants, or hypothyroidism (low thyroid hormone).

MOA (mechanism of action):

Hydroquinone inhibits tyrosinase, the enzyme responsible for melanin production, therefore breaks down the melanin pigment granules in the skin pigment cells (melanocytes) and allows brown patches come back to a normal complexion.

Tretinoin binds to specific retinoic acid receptors and regulates cell differentiation and growth. It promotes new epithelial cells production while exfoliating the old skin cells. By these actions, Tretinoin speeds up the cells turnover rate and makes the lightening of the skin more rapid.

Mometasone Furoate acts as an anti-inflammatory agent blocking the release of inflammatory mediators, such as prostaglandins and leukotrienes. It also decreases the risk of contact dermatitis development that may appear due to the Hydroquinone and Tretinoin application.
