About iCare® Hiv 1 And 2 Oral Swap Rapid Screen Test

Rating of sales:

iCare® HIV 1&2 Oral Swap Rapid Screen Test is manufactured by JAL Innovation and used for qualitative detection of antibodies to HIV in human oral swab.

HIV stands for human immunodeficiency virus – an infection that attacks immune system and depletes the white blood cells known as T-helper (also known as CD4 cells). This weakens patient's ability to fight diseases and infections. The virus can be transmitted via unprotected sexual contact, transfusion of infected blood, sharing contaminated injection needles, or from a HIV-positive mother to her child during pregnancy, birth or breastfeeding. HIV may lead to the acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS). AIDS is the last stage of HIV, when patient's immune system is no longer capable of fighting any disease.

Knowing your health status and probable need for treatment is crucial for the safety and healthcare measures. HIV 1&2 Oral Swap Rapid Screen Test delivers its reaction in 10 minutes already, which reduces an anxiety caused by waiting for any other test results. The testing lies in the oral swab specimen reaction with the colloidal gold reagents labelled with HIV-1/2 specific antigens.

How to use iCare® HIV 1&2 Oral Swap Rapid Screen Test:

Oral swab collection must be performed in the clean mouth only – do not put anything (including food, beverages or tobacco products) to the subject's mouth for at least 10 minutes before the actual oral swab collection. The testing kit was designed for in vitro only.

Phase 1. Oral swab collection

1. Using the sponge end of the oral swab collector, put it into the mouth and gently swipe against upper and lower gums back and forth for 5-6 times.

2. Remove the collector out of the mouth and put it to the mixing chamber with the diluent solution inside. Divide the collector's sponge end from the rest of the device and leave it in the chamber.

3. Close the chamber and shake it up and down about 20 times.

Phase 2. Testing procedure

1. Make sure the test device is of the room temperature before opening it. After opening the test device use it immediately.

2. Holding the mixing chamber vertically put 3-4 drops of the solution to the small aperture on the test device with the dropper tip.

3. Read the results in 10 minutes exactly.

Test Results

You may have HIV: if there are two visible pink colored lines in the Test and Control areas (marked “T” and “C” on the test device).

You do not have HIV: if you see one pink colored line in the Control area.

Test results are invalid: if a line appeared in the Test region while Control area has left blank after 10 minutes of waiting. The oral swab specimen should be retested with a new test device.
